Growth Operating Partner · Founder-Led & PE-Backed Companies

Growth rarely stalls because of one department. It stalls at the constraint no one owns.

I’m Henry “Hank Hugh” Hernandez. I work alongside founders, CEOs, and PE-backed leadership teams to identify what is limiting growth, align the business around it, and direct execution until the constraint moves.

Diagnosis before prescription. Strategy through execution.

Why Companies Call Me

Growth problems do not respect department lines. Neither do I.

Sometimes the issue looks like marketing. Sometimes sales, positioning, operations, technology, AI, leadership alignment, or execution. I start by finding the constraint—not by forcing the business into a predetermined service.

01
You Outgrew What Got You Here

The company grew on founder instinct, relationships, hustle, or a small number of channels. It worked—until it didn’t. The next stage requires a system without losing the speed that created the business in the first place.

02
The Plan Is Not Becoming Operating Reality

The strategy is clear on paper, but the business is not converting intent into coordinated execution. Priorities compete, ownership is fragmented, and the value-creation plan is moving slower than the clock.

03
Everyone Owns a Piece. No One Owns the Constraint.

You have agencies, leaders, vendors, systems, and activity—but no one is accountable for seeing the whole growth problem, deciding what matters most, and driving the work across functions until it changes.

The Hank Hugh Method™

Find the constraint. Align the business. Direct the work. Make the improvement durable.

The public version is intentionally simple. Underneath it sits the operating system I use to assess reality, establish intent, coordinate execution, measure progress, and build capability into the company instead of creating dependency on me.

01
Diagnose

Find the real constraint before prescribing a solution.

02
Align

Get the decision-makers aligned on the problem, objective, priorities, and ownership.

03
Direct

Translate intent into coordinated execution across the functions that matter.

04
Measure

Use evidence to determine whether the constraint is actually moving.

05
Institutionalize

Build the capability into the business so progress does not depend on me.

Proof, Not Promises

Different businesses. Different constraints. Measurable outcomes.

I do not claim that one playbook solves every company. These examples show the opposite: diagnose the actual problem, build the right system around it, and measure what changes.

Organic Demand Engine · Pre-IPO Platform · Compounding Asset
Teladoc

From a 1.4 percent share of voice to a category-level organic demand asset.

In 2015, Teladoc hired my agency to help build the organic growth infrastructure underneath its pre-IPO trajectory. The company was scaling quickly, but its search visibility did not yet reflect the category it intended to lead.

I led the engagement as CEO of the agency and Principal Strategist on the contract. The work spanned keyword and intent architecture, B2B audience segmentation, messaging governance, content standards, technical SEO, backlink strategy, member portal strategy, and analytics.

Today, Teladoc Health ranks for 98,000+ organic keywords, including major terms in telehealth and virtual care, with organic traffic SEMrush values at approximately $1.21 million per month and thousands of citations across major AI answer engines.

The point is not SEO. The point is compounding infrastructure: build the right foundation once, and it can keep creating value long after the engagement ends.

Manufactured Housing Consultants

A 92 percent reduction in cost per call—from $209.45 to $16.26.

MHC was paying $209.45 for every inbound call from paid media. The campaigns were generating activity, but the economics were not good enough.

After restructuring the account architecture, intent layer, and conversion path, cost per call fell to $16.26. Market saturation moved from 42 percent to 98 percent, and call volume increased from 288 to 507.

The constraint was not simply media spend. It was the system connecting intent, architecture, conversion, and execution.
